A Shortcut to Manifesting Your Dreams!

I’ll be the first to admit that I haven’t mastered the art of manifestation quite like Neo in The Matrix yet, but I’ve turned a lot of lead into gold in my life—not literally, but practically.

It always starts with a challenge or desire.

Neo mastering manifestationThen there seems to be an endless process of weeding out limiting beliefs that are buried deep in the subconscious. That and training my mind to focus on appreciation for what I already have (whether I can see it yet or not).

It’s a lifelong practice that makes life better and better. But of course things change over time. New challenges confront us and new desires arise. One moment we are on top of the world and then a whole new series of limiting beliefs pops up.

When Desires Change

Priorities evolve over the years, from education, parenting, career, love, and money to health, lifestyle, and graceful aging. In my 20s I barely gave a thought to my beliefs about aging, but half a century later, they pop up every day.

I watched how my grandparents, parents and others looked and acted as they got older and my subconscious mind sucked it all up like a sponge. My subconscious thinks that’s what aging is all about and it wants to follow their examples. Ugh!

At the same time, the Observer part of me sees it all dispassionately and notices the distorted patterns and fears I hold onto.

Manifestation shortcutsWill I manifest a stroke or dementia like my grandmothers, or cancer like both my parents, and spend my later years wasting away? Or will I manifest a better life as I get older?

It’s all about beliefs.
Or is it?

I think, bottom line, it does come down to our subconscious beliefs. We usually don’t even know we have them. They run our lives without our conscious choice or knowledge, but fortunately, those beliefs can be uncovered and changed to match our conscious choices.

Sure, there are genetic factors and lifestyle factors that can affect our aging process, but even those can be changed by reprograming the mind, improving the diet, getting daily exercise, and that sort of thing.

Genes can be turned on or off (epigenetics) and chronic diseases can be reversed. We can, to a large extent, shape our experience, no matter what stage of life we are at.

Permission-Slip Shortcuts to Freedom

The easiest way to get our subconscious on board with our conscious desires is to use what Bashar calls permission slips.

Aging gracefullyA permission slip is “any excuse to allow ourselves to fully be our unique selves.” Stress-relief exercises are permission slips, so is a healthy diet, regular exercise, reading glasses, meditation, watching inspiring movies (I love the ones where people in their 90s are dancing and running marathons), prescription drugs, or whatever you do that you believe will improve your life.

These permission slips tell your subconscious mind that it can let go of limiting beliefs on that subject. It’s a lot easier than ferreting out the root of a false belief, though that may also be necessary if the permission slips aren’t doing the trick.

For example: I wear reading glasses. I consciously know that it’s possible to simply improve my eyesight by changing my subconscious belief that eyesight gets worse over 40—and I’m sure it would be a good practice—but it would take a lot of attention and subconscious clearing work. So I choose reading glasses.

Glasses give my subconscious permission to allow my eyes to see the small print even when it believes they can’t do it on their own. Other permission slips for the same issue might be hypnotism, acupuncture, dietary supplements, or Lasik surgery. Whatever works for you!

Green smoothie manifestation permission slipSo I say, take a look at your life and decide what you want and where you want to go from here. And use whatever permission slips you believe will work!

Whether it’s green juice, special walking shoes, a meditation app, a cozy blanket, affirmations, or reading glasses, use whatever helps you align your inner world with the life you want to live.

Give your subconscious mind permission to make your dreams come true.

And if you ever feel like you’re slipping into old patterns—those worn-out beliefs you inherited like hand-me-downs—just remember: you’re not stuck with them. You can question them. You can replace them. You can even thank them for getting you this far, then kindly show them the door.

You’re the alchemist. This is your gold to make.
