Avalon is Not in England

Where is Avalon?

This morning as I was preparing to send a Faery Reiki attunement, which I do fairly regularly, I found myself in Avalon, home of the Avalon faeries or Ladies of the Lake. I suppose this shouldn’t have been surprising, since I always open a portal to Avalon at the start of each attunement, but it was different this time.

I hadn’t even opened the portal yet and Avalon was already buzzing all around me. Normally, I don’t even go into Avalon when sending attunements. I just open the portal and connect with the Avalon faeries.

This time Avalon surrounded me, right here in California, with the message that it is always right here, wherever we are, and accessible at any time.

There is no need to travel to Glastonbury, England (though there is a very active portal to Avalon there). Some people even equate Glastonbury with Avalon, but Avalon is much bigger than one town.

Maybe in the past it was easier to access Avalon by going to Glastonbury, but things are changing on planet Earth. Veils are thinning between dimensions. Seemingly separate realities are melting into each other.

Avalon in  Arthurian Lore

Just like in the tales of Arthurian lore, people can come and go between the worlds. A knight might follow a white deer and find himself in Avalon, or a faery woman might show up in Arthur’s court at Camelot. It happened quite frequently in the old stories.

Yet for the past thousand years or so, we’ve tried to pretend these worlds were separate — that we live in a solid world governed by science and rational thought.

It has been an interesting experiment and very unique in the whole scheme of life on Earth. After all, our ancient ancestors were all about magic and feeling connected with Nature and the spirit realms. They lived in harmony with nature spirits, elves, faeries and the rhythms of the seasons.

Our scientific intellectuals have painted those ancestors as ignorant, superstitious and clueless about how things really work in the world, but in doing so they have lost a whole dimension of human experience… and probably the richest dimension in terms of fulfillment and inspiration.

Intuitively, we know that there is more to life than the material reality described by science. We know that things like beauty, friendship, love, intention and creativity are the things that feed our souls… and that we ARE souls, not just physical bodies.

Science is amazing and wonderful in its own way. It has enabled us to live much more comfortably than our ancestors did, and even enabled me to send this post to you right now. That’s pretty cool, but it doesn’t feed our souls.

I think that is why people are so hungry for magic now, and sci-fi and fantasy and spirituality — all the things that are beyond the explanations of science. The pendulum is swinging back toward balance, a balance of the scientific and the spiritual, where both can be true and both can be experienced without negating each other.

So don’t be surprised if you find yourself in Avalon, or another other-dimensional realm. We are always living in multiple dimensions at once and our consciousness is expanding… at least if we are open to expansion.

It’s all about choice now. Maybe it always was, but now our choices are expanding. Now we can choose to live in Avalon, even while we also live in the world of technology and rational thought.

It’s like the human race has been dyslexic for thousands of years and now the two halves of our collective brain are beginning to work together. Intuition and magic can now coexist with logic and rationalism in a way they never could before.

Maybe that is the key to living in the New Earth.
